This is an attempt to view climbing and mountaineering from an aesthetic and reflected perspective. Climbing seen from a different standpoint than of achievement and „higher, harder, more“. The stories and images are about my own adventures, ideas and perceptions.

Now being an aging climber, retired industrial designer and mentor of art students, I have - besides the blog postings - included links to my earlier activities as pioneer in climbing in Austria and developer of equipment. All of my earlier postings are written in German, but as many clicks come from non German speaking countries, I have decided to write in English from now on. Knowing that most Austrians and Germans read English fluently. If I have time, I will gradually translate the older postings.

As an now aging climber, retired industrial designer and mentor of art students I would like to tell the story about the thrill of exploration and discovery of unknown and unclimbed rock in Crete. Thereby establishing a narrative in word and image, but not a detailed technical description of the mountains or routes we climbed, scrambled or just walked in Crete. Under the motto: Leave no traces, give no clues. Dazu ein paar Beispiele meiner Produktentwicklungen fürs Klettern, die ebenfalls aus den frühen Jahren (von 1979 bis 1986) des “entheroisierten” Kletterns stammen.
